During the Apple earnings call today, the company discussed the massive growth and success of its iPad, with schools jumping on the bandwagon.

The company has always had an eye on the education market, as getting its products in front of a younger audience helps grow brand appeal and influence the technology that gets bought in the home. The surprising statistic was that iPads are outselling Macs in schools, and that’s insane.

People aren’t ditching desktop or laptop computers, but it’s clear that in a school setting, the iPad is fitting in quite nicely.
