kodakzi8I’d hardly stepped onto my feet on Dutch soil (coming over from TC50 and DEMO) when I found myself interviewing Jeffrey W. Hayzlett, Kodak’s Chief Marketing Officer, with my brand new iPod Nano. What I didn’t know at that time was that Jeffrey had a new Kodak Zi8 pocket video camera with him and that the quality of this camera is extremely good.

The best thing about the Zi8 is probably its external mic jack, this together with its impressive screen and HD quality video is pretty remarkable, especially if you take the price into account. The Zi8 is $179, a competitive price if you ask me. The gadget is bigger than the Flip, but for me the external mic jack makes it all up.

I interviewed Mr Hayzlett at Picnic about Kodak, the transformation to the web and their new Zi8. For the record, this video was made with the iPod nano and (unfortunately) not with the Kodak Zi8.

Oh and notice the cowboy boots.
