The Details

Nymgo came onto the VoIP scene late in 2008 as a direct competitor to Skype. While it doesnโ€™t have all of the โ€œprettyโ€ features of Skype, such as chats and video calling, Nymgo is a great choice if you make a considerable amount of international calls other than computer-to-computer.

How great of a choice? Take a look at some example pricing:

There is a down side to the cheap calling, however. As I stated, Nymgo doesnโ€™t do computer-to-computer calling, so youโ€™re going to be charged for every call that you make.

Calls can be made via any typical computer, but you can also use Nymgo via your mobile phone as well. If you were a Fring user who is upset about Fringโ€™s blocking of Skype, youโ€™ll be happy to know that Nymgo can still handle your calling.

While Nymgo probably isnโ€™t the right choice for everyone, itโ€™s a great option for those who need to make a heavy amount of international calls. Iโ€™ve tested the service and the call quality is easily acceptable, if not perfect. You can recharge your account with as little as $10, so Nymgo wonโ€™t break the bank. Be forewarned, however, that your credits do expire after 3 months of inactivity.
