It’s great to continue seeing young tech companies fighting against, and beating, more traditional businesses in Australian Awards.
Last week I wrote about how BuzzNumbers had won an Australian Information Industry Association iAward.
This week it’s the turn of Insight4 a development house out of Hobart, which won the AMP Innovation Award at the recent 2010 Telstra Tasmanian Business Awards.
While Insight4’s “Emergent Technology Group” is working on a few different projects, they will be best known to you through Travel startup Travellr and founder Ian Cumming who has moved to Sydney to work on Travellr ever since they received funding from World Nomads Group last year.
Ian is also at the centre of a growing travel-related startup cluster – Sydney Travel Tribe. If you’re interested in the travel space and how technology is transforming it, then you should get down to one of their events.
From what i can tell, no other web startup has won a state Telstra business award this year, so it’s a super effort from the boys from Tassy.
Next step is the National awards, which will be held on August 19th.
