Cambridge, Massachusetts-based research firm InCrowd claims it is the only company in the world that is able to offer real-time healthcare market data and physician opinions. True or not, Spanish venture capital firm Nauta Capital has led a $2.2 million Series A funding round for the fledgling company.
Over the past 12 months, InCrowd says it has built a highly-specialized “Crowd” of healthcare professionals that have opted in to immediately answer super short surveys while expanding its client base to include 8 of the top 10 pharmaceutical firms.
In most sectors, time is money, and this is especially true for the multi-billion dollar life sciences industry.
Traditionally, crucial market data and physician feedback could only be accessed by pharma, biotech and medical device companies after several weeks. InCrowd basically says it can deliver that kind of decision-supportive market data in real time thanks to a stand-by network of targeted, pre-screened healthcare professionals.
Says InCrowd CEO Janet Kosloff:
“We have a long term plan for technology mobilization and product development that we are excited to put into play. We have some near term products we plan to introduce in the next 60 – 90 days while continuing to aggressively grow our commercial presence.”
Duly noted in real time.
