Internet Explorer 9, which launch very recently, accrued some 2.35 million downloads in its first 24 hours on the market.
This level of popularity fits with earlier market enthusiasm for the IE9 beta and release candidate. According to Microsoft, the first day data puts IE9’s download rate at 27 per second. The 2.35 million downloads in the first 24 hours is more than twice the download rate of the IE9 beta, and four times that of the IE9 RC.
Internet Explorer launched to mostly positive reviews, especially in regards to its improved speed, and standards compliance. If you missed the announcement, you can download IE9 here.
