At CES today, Huawei announced two new smartwatch models named ‘Elegant’ and ‘Jewel.’
Huawei has been hot in the smartwatch market and revenues grew in this sector by 70 percent in 2015. The latest offerings expand the Chinese electronics maker’s watch offerings in the US to eight.
The ‘Elegant’ and ‘Jewel’ are compatible with Android Wear, iOS and Android and aim to make smartwatches as fashionable as they are functional. Both are quite stylish and Huawei claims to have drawn design inspiration from classic, high-end wristwatches of old, with the scratch-resistant faces, two-layer Sapphire crystal and cold-forged stainless steel bodies.
The ‘Elegant’ features a distinct top ring design on a rose-gold plated body and the ‘Jewel,’ perhaps appropriately, sports 68 Swarovski Zirconia encircling the face. Both will come with a selection of exclusive watch faces as well.
You can expect the ‘Elegant’ and ‘Jewel’ to be available in the US at some point in Q1 2016.
