Hp Pavillion DM1We just got word that HP’s new Pavilion DM1 is now available in Canada, exclusively through the big box retailer Best Buy.

HP’s notebook sports an AMD Vision E350 dual-core 1.6 GHz processor, 11.6” high-definition diagonal BrightView LED display with a screen size of 1366 x 768. It’s also powered by AMD Fusion technology, a fancy name for its accelerated processing unit that aims to improve data transfer rates while reducing the battery consumption.

In addition to having over 9.5 hours of battery life (6-cell Lithium-ion battery) , the exterior is sleek, 1” thick, and weighs in at 3.5 pounds . This notebook ships with Windows 7 Home Premium (64-Bit) pre-installed, 4GB of RAM, a 640 GB hard drive and HDMI ports for extending media to a larger screen. It has no optical drive or multi-channel digital audio output, but it does have a memory card reader (SD; MMC) and a built-in webcam. This notebook retails for $600 (Canadian) at Best Buy.

AMD’s Leslie Soban and HP’s VP & Chief Technology Officer Phil McKinney, discuss the HP Pavilion DM1(z-series) in the video below. We should note that BestBuy is calling its new HP Pavilion notebook the e-series although, aside from more RAM and hard drive space, it’s pretty much has the same.
