We’ve been seeing a lot of crowdsourced projects in the days of social media. Here’s a new one from Amadeus, the global travel giant that provides technology solutions to providers, sellers and buyers of travel.
Amadeus announced today that they are hosting an “idea contest” that will make travel “Brighter, Bolder, and Better.” The winning entry will get €20,000 to help develop the project further. Runners-up will get access to an additional pool of €10,000. The competition will run from the 15th of December, 2011 to the 18th of May 2011 and it is open to international participants.
The idea for the competition came from Mujteba H. Naqvi, Founder & CEO of Bonvoy Inc. who works with Amadeus exclusively to pilot Bonvoy’s Facebook app that lets Facebook friends plan, book and split up costs for group trips. Working with Amadeus, he said, “In what ways can we disrupt the travel industry?”
It seems that Amadeus team needs a little bit of help from the crowd…and they’re willing to pay. So, in what ways can you implement technology to make travel better? Submit your idea here.
