We’ve featured several exciting projects incorporating Microsoft’s mixed reality HoloLens headset, from collaborative industrial design to interactive car demos. But what I’m genuinely interested is how it transforms gaming.
Varun Mani, a program manager for HoloLens at Microsoft, has uploaded footage showing how the headset can stream Halo 5: Guardians from his Xbox One — giving him the ability to project the game on a screen of just about any size.
The clip is all too short: I wish Mani would’ve shown just how big the projected screen can get. Still, it’s impressive that the $3,000 HoloLens developer kit, slated to ship next year, is already capable of such technological wizardry.
