An intrepid Redditor has bravely done what none of us had done before: measure their heart rate while proposing to their partner.

In a post on the ‘data is beautiful’ subreddit, user Sesipikai shared a graph of their heart rate spanning around 40 minutes before and after proposing.

The results are about what you’d expect; a nervously high heart rate massively jumping when it was time to actually propose (and dropping while eating ice cream).

Sesipikai said in the comments that the heart rate was monitored using a Sports tracker HRM2 belt while visiting the Colosseum in Rome and the data was compiled using Microsoft Excel.
