HealthTap launches $99 per month Prime option, including live HD video calls with doctors

HealthTap launches $99 per month Prime option, including live HD video calls with doctors

HealthTap, the online medical information repository and Q&A service, has launched a new paid-for premium option today called HealthTap Prime, which can put you in touch with a doctor for a consultation in a matter of clicks.

For $99 per month, plus $10 for each additional family member, you get access to round the clock virtual consultations with doctors via audio, text or HD video chat. As well as providing a on-demand consultation service, Prime subscribers also get access to hundreds of thousands of doctor-created health answers and tips. This also includes health news updates, relevant mobile app reviews and personalized checklists based on your health profile and preferences.

The idea behind it isn’t to replace a visit to the doctor, but rather to provide peace of mind on-call. If you’ve ever searched the internet for answers to a medical problem, you’ll know that reliable, consistent advice is hard to come by. The platform also provides a centralized location for all your health records, which allows you to keep doctors up to date easily.

The Prime features are accessible globally through the existing Android and iOS apps, a spokesperson said, although you will need to update them if you’re already a free HealthTap user.
