Yesterday morning, we kicked off our live coverage of broadcasting technology event IBC by talking to Stephen White, the president of media metadata firm Gracenote.
While you may associate the company with its music database that automatically recognizes the tracks you rip to your computer from CDs, it is making a big push into the TV and online video space.
While still less than 10% of the company’s overall business, White told us about just how active the company is in this market. He also gave us an update on the company’s deal with Twitter to give musicians and actors Verified Accounts using information from its database.
As this was live, we had a false start when we had no audio for a few seconds, but hey – that’s all part of the fun. You can catch our live interviews from IBC throughout the European daytime on our IBC live page, powered by LiveU.
