Google is active in all sorts of different niches, but a price comparison service for car insurance renewals is certainly a new one to add to the list.

Spotted by Rude Baguette, Google launched the service in beta today for drivers across France, comparing just six companies initially: 4assur, AllSecur (Allianz), Acomme Assure, Aloa Assurances (Covéa), Active Assurances et SOS Malus.

We expect that number to grow in the future, in addition to the countries it’s available in – providing this small test drive proves successful.
