Google today updated its Google Play Movies & TV app for iOS with offline playback. You can download the new version now directly from Apple’s App Store.

The addition means you can now download movies and TV shows to your device, and then watch the videos on the go, even when you don’t have an Internet connection. You still can’t buy content directly from the app, but that shouldn’t be too surprising if you remember that Apple takes a 30 percent cut of every sale on its platform.

Google released the iOS app only earlier this year, though unlike its Android counterpart, it came without this key feature. Offline playback on iOS devices comes just three months after it arrived on Google’s Chromebooks.
