Google Play Books for Android now lets users upload their own books

google play booksGoogle is rolling out an update to its Google Play Books Android app that will finally see users able to upload their own books to the service.

Update 3.1.17 — which was discovered by the sleuths at Android Police — lets you add your own PDFs and EPUB files using a new ‘Upload to Play Books’ option.

Google also claims books will open quicker and smoother following the update, though we’re yet to validate that. The new version of Google Play Books is still rolling out, so be patient if it hasn’t come your way just yet.
