Google Photos, the app that split itself from Google+ at this year’s I/O conference, is reportedly being updated to allow you to stream pics to Chromecast and collaborate on photo streams.
The Chromecast feature is a no-brainer; the app will now allow you to stream pics or albums to Chromecast, and even let them act as backdrops.
Users may also be able to collaborate openly on folders that correspond to events. If you were at a wedding, you may be able to take pictures and send them to an album that all attendees contribute to. It’s still not known how Google might handle this (a Drive folder?), but it’s an interesting feature nonetheless.
Lastly, you may soon be able to add custom labels to our pictures. Rather than acknowledging it’s a known person in your pics, you can add (or alter) tags as needed. If your crazy ex really is a crazy ex, you can label themas such.
The features are expected to hit tomorrow as Google unveils new devices, so don’t be surprised if your app is updating in the morning.
