Google Maps helps you find your way, but Google Naps ā a parody based on the popular mapping service ā is helping you discover the best places for a snooze.
A group of Dutch users created Google Naps to uncover āthe worldās coziest and coolest places to take a well-deserved nap.ā These napping spots, which include Portugal, China, Indonesia, South Africa, Brazil and all four corners of the US, are shared by fellow users.
To avoid being called out for the blatant ripoff of Google Maps, the Dutch founders have left a message on the Naps tool for Googlers:
Hello, please donāt be mad this is just a joke, a parody. We donāt mean to damage your brand or anything, we just want to bring a smile on the faces of Google fans. So please donāt take this to court, we only have a few hundred Euros in the bank. And we also donāt want to go to jail because weāre too busy with other things at the moment. But whenever you are in the Netherlands you can have a nap on our couch if you wantā¦
Google Naps is probably more funny than useful for anything, really. The only time it could come in really useful would be when youāre on vacation, maybe ā though why would one need to nap on a bench when thatās what hotels are for?
