Good news for UK Android owners. Google Maps navigation has found its way to Android.

Overnight, UK handsets received the 4.1.1. beta that US owners received earlier this month and with it it brings verbal directions, 2D and 3D mapping views, standard directions or navigational plus a heap more. It’s reportedly still a little buggy but heck it’s free and it’s still in beta. Compare that to forking out upwards of £50+ for an app and you can see why this is the beginning of the end for the likes of TomTom.

The Guardian has been testing the release and has a detailed run through of the entire app, well worth a read.
