Google I/O is going to be at Shoreline Ampitheatre this year, and will happen a bit sooner than normal: May 18-20.
This comes via Twitter, announced by Google CEO Sundar Pichai:
I/O’16 coming to neighborhood where it all started 10 yrs ago: Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, May 18-20. More details soon. #io16

So, there you go. We hope your time off request at work doesn’t need to be changed, but if it does — you’ve got time.
It’s also curious that Google is migrating away from Moscone West. While Pichai says Shoreline is a return to I/O’s home, it’s a curious move for such a huge conference. Shoreline is also a lot of outdoor seating, so if there’s unusually inclimate weather, I sure hope Google has a contingency plan.
It’s worth noting that Google’s I/O conference attendance is based on a lottery system, so don’t bet the farm you’ll get in.
