Google acquires FlexyCore, the startup behind DroidBooster

Google has bought the Android optimization company FlexyCore for an undisclosed sum, a spokesperson for the company confirmed to The Next Web.

Best known for its DroidBooster Android app (which is no longer available), the deal was apparently struck one year ago, but has only now been completed. Google said it decided to buy the company as “the FlexyCore team has strong expertise in building software to optimize Android device performance, and we think they’d be a great fit with our team”.

The French-language site L’Expansion reported the deal as being worth $23 million, but a spokesperson would not confirm the financial terms of the acquisition.
