Gmail mobile gets multiple account sign-in, but check your bookmark

Gmail mobile gets multiple account sign-in, but check your bookmark

If you use Google’s Gmail for work and home on your mobile device, this is something that will interest you.

Today, the Gmail team announced that the mobile version of Gmail now lets you sign-in with multiple accounts, which makes reading your email on the road way easier.

The Team says:

Just like on your desktop, you can now to sign into multiple accounts simultaneously. To sign into an additional account, click on the account switcher at the bottom of the threadlist, then click ”Sign into an another account.” You can quickly switch between accounts by selecting the desired account from the Accounts menu.

This is great for a few reasons, as we know the desktop version of desktop has supported account switching, and on certain mobile devices you can use the native mail client to add multiple accounts, but this is a feature the actual native mobile version has been lacking until today.

Very important to note as well is that they’d like you to update your bookmark to Mobile Gmail, which is now http://mail.google.com. Are they perhaps moving away from the Gmail brand in favor of the uniform “Google Mail”?

There are two other things that you can now do from the mobile version of Gmail that you couldn’t do before, you can set a mobile-specific version of your signature, and set an auto-responder in case you go on vacation and forgot to set one right before you get on the plane.
