Entrepreneurs from 21 cities around the world are going to be competing for prizes provided by Microsoft, Twilio, and oDesk ranging from software packages and training to big sweaty loads of cash, not to mention a year of bragging rights to the globes only Startup Weekend competition winners.
The Startup Weekend people describe it like this:
All teams from the Startup Weekend events during Global Entrepreneurship Week (November 12-21) are invited. Teams at Startup Weekend events will compete amongst themselves and a winner will be chosen at each event by a panel of judges. Once the local winner is decided, that team has 24 hours to create a 90 seconds video pitch and a 15-word description that explains what their startup is all about and why it rocks.
The voting will be on the videos, meaning whoever gets the most views wins. So get ready to check out the what the some of the most creative minds of the world have to pitch in a truly global competition that is pretty awesome if you ask me.
