GitHub’s Student Developer Pack gets free access to Microsoft Visual Studio Community 2013

GitHub’s Student Developer Pack gets free access to Microsoft Visual Studio Community 2013

GitHub launched its Student Developer Pack late last year with a selection of handy tools for developers currently studying a diploma or degree course. Now the offer’s even more enticing – Microsoft’s adding Visual Studio Community 2013 into the mix.

Through the GitHub pack, student developers can access Visual Studio’s tools, designers ands debuggers for creating web, mobile, desktop and cloud apps with C#, Node.js, Python, F# and VB amongst others.

The announcement also opens up access to Visual Studio Online, which includes tools for planning, backlogs and bug tracking, and a Microsoft Azure subscription to host 10 free web sites and 10 free mobile services.

Student developers who want to access even more Microsoft tools can sign up for the company’s DreamSpark programme which includes SQL Server, training courses and Windows Store developer accounts.
