GigaOM is bringing its Structure conference to Europe next month, with an event that will explore the evolution of cloud computing.
On 16 & 17 October in Amsterdam, big-name speakers and important voices in the cloud computing world will discuss the economic advantages of a more elastic and on-demand infrastructure and the business opportunities for companies in this fast-growing space.
So, why should you attend? Well, The Next Web is a media partner for the event, so here are five good reasons. Be sure to register with The Next Web’s VIP code to save 40% on your registration. There’s also a chance to win a ticket at the end of this post.
1) Business – follow the money to Europe
Recently, the European Commission recommended that businesses invest €45 billion in the cloud by 2020 to spur GDP and job growth. As firm supporters of entrepreneurship and innovation, GigaOM will explore how European companies can take advantage of mandated cloud spending and adoption trends.
2) Rainmakers – the biggest names in cloud
While many of Europe’s cloud deployments are private, European companies are eager to learn what their counterparts in the U.S. are doing. An all-star lineup of cloud experts from both sides of the pond has been assembled, including Amazon’s CTO Werner Vogels and Jay Parikh, VP of infrastructure engineering at Facebook, with Europeans such as Bernard Dallé, a partner with Index Ventures and Eirikur Hrafnsson, the founder of GreenQloud. Check out the full speaker list.
3) Program – the emerging technologies that will matter to Europe
Big data, public clouds vs. private clouds, infrastructure and privacy. These are some of the topics that will be covered at Structure:Europe.
4) Startups – meet the LaunchPad finalists
GigaOM has hand-picked five European startups to present onstage at its LaunchPad competition on 16 October. Companies include Besol, ComodIT, DoxOut, FileSpirit and Wercker. Read more about them on GigaOM or see them at Structure:Europe.
Structure:Europe attracts senior executives and technologists, entrepreneurs, VCs and press, including GigaOM editors. And since real business happens between sessions and after hours, be sure to stick around for cocktail parties, GigaOM Pro analyst research roundtables and “mapping” sessions.
Tickets can be booked now, and remember to register with The Next Web’s VIP code to save 40% on your registration.
