In an unwelcome sign of the times, Amazon has put up the minimum spend required to qualify for free delivery on UK orders.
As Engadget spotted, the minimum spend to qualify for free delivery will be £20, up from £10 previously. The new rate starts at 6pm BST this evening.
If you’re a frequent Amazon shopper, or use its Prime streaming services, you probably already have an £80 per year subscription that covers you for free delivery. But if you’re not, this price hike looks to be the sort of incentive Amazon might use to get you to upgrade.
I can’t help but think this news isn’t going to please many people, though.
