Office 2010 Free For US Partners And New Office 2007 Buyers

logoMicrosoft Office 2010 Beta has been available for quite some time now, Alex has put together a nice post listing 5 reasons why you might want to consider upgrading to Office 2010.

Microsoft is offering Office 2010 free to some US partners and Office 2007 users. Microsoft has announced a program called Technology Guarantee under which users who activate their copy of Office 2007 between March 5th to September 30th will be offered free upgrade to Office 2010.

In a blog post the Office 2010 team has listed the Technology Guarantee program conditions:

  • Purchase Office 2007, or a new PC with Office 2007, and activate it between March 5, 2010 and September 30, 2010.
  • Have, or create a Windows Live ID.
  • Redeem your Tech Guarantee before October 31, 2010 by visiting www.office.com/techg.

In a separate announcement, Microsoft is offering free copies of Office 2010 Professional as part of their Office Excitement Kit. This offer is bit a more restricted:
