Foursquare now at 2.6 million users

Foursquare now at 2.6 million users

Foursquare CEO Dennis Crowley just tweeted out that the location startup now has 2.6 million users, having gained 184,000 in the last 10 days alone. So if that growth continues at a steady pace, Foursquare should pass 3 million users sometime in the first week of September.

Other recent milestones: a little over a month ago, Foursquare surpassed 1 million checkins in a day, Zagat just announced that it is the first brand to hit 50,000 followers on Foursquare, and Foursquare’s Tristan Walker said that the company is moving “closer and closer to [gender] parity“.

So when someone tells you that no one has heard of Foursquare… well, they’re getting there – quick.
