Last month, location based mobile game announced they had raised funding equal to $1.35 million. $200,000 of that funding came from angel investors, one confirmed as being Digg’s Kevin Rose.
Today, clearly proud, Foursquare announce their full roster of all star investors:
Jack Dorsey, creator of Twitter.
Kevin Rose, founder of Digg.
Joshua Schachter, founder of Delicious.
Alex Rainert, co-founder of Dodgeball.
SV Angels LLC, The angel group founded and backed by Ron Conway.
Chad Stoller, NYC branding/advertising/interactive executive
Sergio Salvatore, long-time music / technology entrepreneur.
We weren’t lying when we said “All Stars”.
Twitter and Foursquare also already have an investor in common: Union Square Ventures who provided the lions share of Foursquare’s first round of funding. Union Square participated in Twitter’s Series A and B rounds but sat out on the most recent one.
Foursquare only yesterday launched in London, after having only been in the US and Amsterdam. France and other European cities are reportedly to launch soon. Immediate competitors Gowalla, need to announce something big soon or the company are going to be soon forgotten, irrespective of how elegant their take on the game is.
