Popular iOS and Android keyboard Fleksy has gone free forever and will instead charge for in-app add-ons.

The new Fleksy is free to download for both iOS and Android and has offered theme and “extension slots” for purchase since late 2014 to monetize its keyboard.

This update also brings a new “highlights” view that helps you discover stickers and GIFs in a single place rather than on separate pages.

If you’d previously purchased Fleksy, you’ll get $8 of credits to download themes and extensions.

Free keyboards featuring in-app purchases is the popular way to monetize now, with SwiftKey and Themeboard using similar models.
