First introduction to our new research tool: TNW Index

First introduction to our new research tool: TNW Index

Today we’d like to give you a little taste of a product that, while still in alpha, is ultimately very important to us; TNW Index.

We like to think of it as a next generation research tool that uses data from the likes of Crunchbase, WIkipedia and our own content to make it possible to research, filter and produce wonderful visuals (graphs, tables, maps and more) in seconds about the technology ecosystem that we know and love.

The tool itself is built by a new startup called Silk whose goal it is to create an entirely new way to create and consume content. Silk also happened to win TNW Startup Rally at TNW Conference 2011.

The filtering, search and visualization mechanisms Silk provides are nothing short of outstanding. The team is working hard to make it even better, so you’ll see some nice improvements over the time to come.

The 💜 of EU tech

The latest rumblings from the EU tech scene, a story from our wise ol' founder Boris, and some questionable AI art. It's free, every week, in your inbox. Sign up now!

Here are some sample queries:

  • CEOs under 30 who have raised over $1 Million in early funding rounds,
  • The largest acquisitions in the last two years, or
  • Tech companies that were founded by English majors.

While on the data front, as much as we respect the likes of Crunchbase and Wikipedia, we feel we can make it more relevant to what we’re building so we’ll be investing a lot of time over the coming months to improving & developing that. We’ll also be launching another product soon that aids with the development of TNW Index and you’ll be hearing more about that soon.

For now, TNW Index is very much a work in progress but something that – long term – we know you will find incredibly useful. Have a look now and stay tuned for more news on TNW Index.
