Find your favorite musicians’ degrees of separation with Spotify’s new playlist tool

Not to be outdone by the infamous Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon game, Spotify has launched its own Valentine’s Day-themed adaptation of the concept, linking two musical artists together by creating a playlist that finds a middle ground between the two, no matter how different.

Spotify’s Sweet Spot is geared to help couples find their “musical sweet spot,” but you can do this for any two artists you like. Just input two of your favorite musicians and Spotify will conjure up a playlist that should appeal to both tastes. Afterward, you can save or share the playlist, or start over if you’re not content with the result.

So while the songs aren’t technically connected by any in-real-life interaction, it’s a cute way to create a custom playlist for you and your boo and see how many degrees separate your musical preference.
