Facebook for Android now allows you to add your own events, brings photos and emoji to messages

Facebook has updated its Android app bringing event creation, a new upload flow for sharing photos and the ability to add photos and emoji to messages. The update is live in the Google Play Store.

It’s been a busy week for Facebook, as it’s rolled out changes to a range of its services. On Wednesday, Facebook pushed updated its Messages feature, adding a two-pane layout and bringing its features closer in line with the iOS and Android versions. The company also recently began serving ads alongside its search results.

Meanwhile, developers now have access to a Mention Tagging feature for their apps, and those submitting their software to Facebook’s App Center portal have an updated dashboard.
