Facebook files for ‘Ringmark’ and ‘fMC’ trademarks in the US

Facebook files for ‘Ringmark’ and ‘fMC’ trademarks in the US

Social networking giant Facebook has filed three new applications for trademarks with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) last week.

Two of them were for Ringmark, the mobile browser test suite Facebook introduced back in February 2012 at the Mobile World Congress.

Little known Ringmark is a browser test suite for building apps on the mobile Web. Facebook open-sourced Ringmark in early April so anyone could contribute tests.

The other trademark application is for fMC, a series of events targeting marketing professionals worldwide (also see ‘facebook-successstories.com’).

Facebook organizes the fMC events to update marketers on new and existing advertising solutions, and to make ad- and marketing-related announcements.

The inaugural fMC event was held in New York, but Facebook has also organized events in Europe, Asia and South America.
