Facebook already knows an awful lot about you and your life, but it could be looking to get a grip on your healthcare info too, according to a report by Reuters today.
The article cites “three people familiar with the matter” as the source of the information that suggests the data-gobbling, social networking giant could be looking to introduce support communities for people suffering from specific medical ailments and “prevantative care” apps to help people generally improve their lifestyle.
Like Apple and Google’s recent interest in healthcare, if Facebook does decide to go down this road it could prove another valuable avenue of data for the future. However, sharing your private medical details isn’t quite the same as sharing your holiday photos, so whether or not users would want to use them could be a different question.
We got in touch with Facebook for comment and will let you know if we hear back.
