If you’ve ever started a new Page on Facebook, you know that you’re only method of promoting that page to your friends, through recommendations, usually has a low response rate because the recommendations are tucked in a corner of the Facebook sidebar.

As of today, Facebook have introduced a new way to recommend your Page to your friends so that they’ll appear as notifications in Facebook and, depending on the user’s settings, in email, Inside Facebook reports. Users will now be able to click through to the page via the notification and Like it, though there’s no functionality allowing them to act on it from the notification box itself as there is with friend requests.

This boosts the visibility of these invitations in a huge way — given that the average user often didn’t see the old recommendations to begin with.
