Facebook doubles down on Europe with new offices in London and Dublin

Facebook doubles down on Europe with new offices in London and Dublin

Facebook is opening new offices in Dublin and London in a bid to grow its presence in Europe.

The new 120,000 sq. ft. office in Grand Canal Square, Dublin will be home to more than 1,000 employees, effectively doubling the number of staff in its international headquarters.

In London, the new office will see the company move from Covent Garden to its Regents Place Campus and is a more modest affair, but will still take up 88,000 sq.ft and employ more than 500 staff, again, effectively doubling the number of employees based in its London office.

“Our new home will give us the space to double the number of people working at Facebook London and build on what we’ve achieved there over the past few years, including the only Facebook Engineering Centre in Europe,” Nicola Mendelsohn, VP EMEA at Facebook, said.

Both the new offices will be designed by the architect Frank Gehry. Both offices are due to open sometime in 2014, a spokesperson told TNW.
