February 4th is known as “Friends Day” at Facebook HQ, as it’s the anniversary of the company’s founding. While Facebook is hosting a few celebrations over in Menlo Park, it’s also giving its users an anniversary gift in the form of friendship videos.
These algorithm-based videos showcase memories from your various friendships that you can share with anyone on your feed. The short videos will show up at the top of your feed, and are mercifully editable (so you can cut out that one person you don’t talk to anymore).
Or, if you see someone else’s video, you can instead click on the ‘Watch Yours’ button below to get started on your own.
The videos should be available to “most people in the world” by mid-day in their respective regions on February 4.
There are a few other tidbits too. The company released new statistics about its users’ degrees of separation; they’ve decreased from 3.74 degrees in 2011 to 3.57 now.
Finally, something else to share with your friends: Stickers. There are two new stickers packs called “Best Friends and ‘Friendship.’ They’re available for free from the Sticker Store.
