Facebook brings its dedicated Events app to Android

Facebook brings its dedicated Events app to Android

Facebook released a pretty nifty standalone Events app back in October, a sort of mish-mash between a calendar and “things-to-do” suggestion app. It was only available for iOS, but now it’s launched on Android too.

As a recap, the app’s homescreen features an overview of events your friends are interested in attending, as well as events hosted by Pages you like, in addition to any updates from events you’re already following. It can also provide completely new suggestions for things to do based on your location and interests. You can view nearby events on a map too.

Alternatively, you can also just use it as a regular calendar app, with the neat (or annoying, depending on your outlook) automatic integration of upcoming Facebook events.

For more on the features in the Events app, check out our original iOS coverage here. Otherwise, head on over to the source link below to give it a try.
