Listen to 110 years of uninterrupted Billboard Charts with Remix of the Century

Listen to 110 years of uninterrupted Billboard Charts with Remix of the Century

Ever wondered what was the number one on the Billboard Charts in 1920? Nor us. But out of interest, it was a song called ‘Dardanella’, by Ben Selvin & His Orchestra.

A new Music Hack Day project aims to provide questions like this with an accurate answer, exploring a century of the Billboard Charts. Remix of the Century, as the project is being called, cleverly provides you with an uninterrupted remix of Billboard’s best ranking tunes by combining data from the Whitburn Project with the Echo Nest API.

REMIX

Thanks to the integration of this API, alongside listening to the hit tracks of the day, you can check out song audio characteristics like tempo, mode, key, ‘Danceability’ and ‘Energy’.
