Evernote Food for Android updated with multi-shot camera, lets you attach images to your meal

Evernote today announced an update to its Food app on Android that includes a slew of new photo-oriented features. You can download the latest version now from the official Google Play store.

First on the list is the multi-shot camera, which as its name implies, lets you take lots of photos in succession. In fact, you can take as many photos as you like without leaving camera mode (okay, the limit is your storage space). All the photos you take appear inside the meal, unless you choose to delete them before exiting (tap on the photo and then tap the ‘X’).

Next up is the option to change the order of images in a meal. To do so, open a meal, scroll down to the Photo List, tap and hold the image that you’d like to move, and tap the new spot you want to put it in.

Evernote also wants to point out it has made significant behind-the-scenes improvements, including the usual improvements and bug fixes. The company claims both sync and performance “are much faster and more reliable than ever before.”

Here’s the official Evernote Food for Android version 1.1 changelog:

  • New Multi-Shot Camera: take multiple photos of your meal without leaving camera mode.
  • Reorder your photos by long-pressing a row in the Photo List.
  • Option to attach images to your meal from the device Image Gallery.
  • Numerous sync and performance improvements.

And don’t forget to look in the options menu/overflow menu to attach images from your gallery, share meals, sync, and more.

Some may think Evernote Food isn’t really that popular, but it turns out it’s not that far behind the original Evernote app. The latest figures from Google Play show that the former is at 5.2 million users while the latter is at 7.8 million users.
