Employees of 3 companies being offered the Apple Watch for $25 if they stay healthy

Employees of 3 companies being offered the Apple Watch for $25 if they stay healthy

Employees at a three companies are now able to get the Apple Watch for $25 — so long as they meet monthly activity goals.

Leveraging the Apple Watch’s health tracking sensors, employees of Amgen, DaVita HealthCare Partners and Lockton must satisfy those monthly goals over a two year period. The aim is to create a healthier workforce, and reduce insurance premiums for employers.

Businesses offering the discounted Apple Watch to employees are going through Vitality Group, not Apple. It’s doubtful Apple has a direct hand in this arrangement.

The catch? Employees who don’t meet the monthly goals over that two-year span will have to pay the full price for the Apple Watch.

It’s a decent arrangement if you’re serious about a healthier lifestyle through exercise, and the ‘early termination fee’ for not exercising is an interesting motivator, if not an expensive one.
