After the launch of several successful mobile games and a line of toys, games and soft drinks, Rovio Entertainment’s smash hit franchise Angry Birds will feature on the silver screen this summer.
The Angry Birds Movie sees Red, a flightless bird, team up with his avian buddies to take on a horde of pigs that have decided to settle on their peaceful island. The film looks pretty much like the 3D version of the Angry Birds universe as seen in Rovio’s numerous games.
Jason Sudeikis, who voices Red, is joined by Saturday Night Live alumni Bill Hader, Maya Rudolph and Kate McKinnon, as well as Key & Peele’s Keegan-Michael Key, and Game of Thrones’ Peter Dinklage.
The Angry Birds Movie arrives in theaters this May.
