Domain hijacking forces Lissn to move to new address

Lissn, a startup with a product it describes as a social conversation tool, has been forced to pick up on a new web address after a domain hijacking forced the company out of its old home, CNET reports.

Hijackers managed to get into the company’s registrar account and transfer their domain at Lissn.com out from under them. The process for getting the domain back requires time and money they just don’t have, said founder Myke Armstrong.

Armstrong said that the Internet is like the Wild West. “Like many newly established territories before it, this one comes with an element of lawlessness.”

The startup is young with a team of two and is fortunate to be able to adjust so easily, but we hope Lissn are able to eventually get their domain back.
