Following the recent announcement of its expansion into Canada, Australia and New Zealand, music streaming service Deezer has set its sights back on central Europe, partnering with mobile operator T-Mobile to offer unlimited streaming subscriptions on some tariffs.
The deal is seen as a way to promote legal music streaming and sharing in Central Europe, initially launching in Austria. Austrian T-Mobile customers will receive an exclusive co-branded Deezer Unlimited Music subscription if they sign up to an all-inclusive Young Star Music or Music XL tariff with the operator.
It’s not the first time Deezer has engaged mobile carriers, with the company securing a deal with T-Mobile’s UK partner Orange to offer subscriptions to its mobile subscribers. The French company recently said at a conference that 60 percent of its signups in the UK are coming from mobile as a result of its partnership with the operator.
Yesterday, Deezer launched platform in Canada, Australia and New Zealand, further expanding its service outside of Europe (where it says it covers 46 countries). However, it has firmly stated that it will not launch in the US or Japan, instead leaving those markets to Spotify and other more established music services.

Deezer continues to build on its 20 million strong userbase, offering 15 million tracks from over 2,000 music labels in supported markets, helping it become — what it says — is the biggest music streaming service in the world.
