Crowdsourced designs site 99designs launches in Brazil through acquisition of LogoChef

Design competition service 99designs has launched in Brazil through the acquisition of local design site LogoChef.

99designs, which has now paid out over $60 million to designers, has expanded abroad quickly, moving into the Netherlands, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Latin America over the past year. 12designer, the startup’s first acquisition, paved the way for its move into Europe, and now LogoChef co-founder Dan Strougo will sign on as 99designs’ Country Manager in Brazil.

99designs CEO Patrick Llellwyn, who is in Brazil this week to keynote TNW Conference Latin America, said in an interview the company aspires to be “the largest online marketplace for graphic design in the world” and will continue expanding its international footprint in order to provide “truly localized services in major regions of the world.”
