Cortana will now show you coupons when you shop using Microsoft’s Edge browser

Microsoft want to help you save a bit of money when you use its browser. The company today announced it’s testing a new feature that allows Cortana to surface coupons when you browse shopping sites.

For example, if you visit Best Buy’s website, a little blurb will appear in your URL bar with Cortana suggesting you use a coupon.

Click on it, and Cortana’s sidebar will pop up to show you some of the available deals.

Microsoft says coupons are also available for Staples, Macy’s and others , with more to be added in the coming months through a partnership with coupon provider Shopular.

Keep in mind the feature is in a pilot phase, so it could change or be removed over time. Nonetheless, it’s a useful addition and simpler than bloating up the browser with an extension.

The coupons were a result of user feedback, so if you have any more ideas for Cortana and Edge, Microsoft says you can contact them via the Feedback app in the Start menu, on Edge’s support site, or via the browser’s Twitter account.
