Colorware is obviously feeling retro. The company with a history of skinning popular electronics has jumped in a time machine and brought back an Apple IIe, only in the form of a modern 12-inch MacBook.
The laptop itself is the highest-end 2016 MacBook, with dual-core M7 chip, 8GB of RAM and 512GB of flash storage, but the exterior screams vintage Apple with its illuminated rainbow logo, off-white color and faux side vents that really are a blast from the past.
If you’re licking your chops and are ready to buy one, it’s probably better if you sat down for this. Colorware is only making 10 of these limited edition MacBooks, and each one will set you back a cool $2,999 — nearly twice that of the same laptop, sans-styling, at Apple.
But, if you’re a sucker for retro-looking toys — and if you hurry — you might just be able to snag one over at Colorware’s website.
