Coinbase, a bitcoin wallet and exchange service, has announced that people based in the UK can get access to its platforms from today.
While it already launched its digital wallet service in the US in 2013 and introduced the Coinbase Exchange in January this year, the UK has been sorely left out of the company’s plans until now.
However, that’s now changed and users can trade bitcoin via the exchange or buy and sell via the Coinbase Wallet. To make things easier for users, Coinbase has also added BTC/GBP and BTC/EUR currency pairs for UK users.
While bitcoin isn’t the hot property it once was – having lost a huge amount of value from its peak of around $1,150 per bitcoin to its $220 level today – this will still be a welcomed move from anyone wanting to use the crypto-currency in the UK.
