His focus is on social and mobile technologies but given half a chance he'll try to sneak music or football into his blog-posts. Tim can be found at One Greener Day and you can also follow @timdifford on Twitter.

Just ahead of the Christmas rush, National Car Parks have launched a Twitter-feed aimed at shoppers and revellers with up to the minute advice on where best to park during the busy festive period.

NCP’s Twitter feed is at @NCPManchester and provides details of seasonal reductions in parking charges, along with the locations of the best spots to cool your wheels if you are attending some of the many great shows and Christmas activities.

It looks like NCP Manchester is leading the way with this service… surely other major cities across the UK must be ready to follow suit.

In the mean time, why not see if you can create your own crowd-sourced parking service using you own Twitter network? Something along the lines of ‘if anyone can see a space big enough for a Renault Megane on Portland Street will they stand in it waving their arms please, I’ll be there in two minutes’.
